Elsinore - Yes Yes Yes

I feel like the title needs more exclamation points. Like, "Yes! Yes! Yes! by Elsinore!"

I finally got around to buying the Chemicals EP and I am really enjoying it. I'm hoping to see them tomorrow in Charlottesville, VA as long as the weather cooperates. My fingers are crossed.

I Wish Someone Would Save Me [From Equilibrium]

There are often days, weeks, and months that go by, and I don't have to think about the only movie that I actively dislike that I've seen more than once.

That's right.

Equilibrium.



I hate this film so much. I hate it. I was bored, bored bored the entire time. I love Sci-Fi, but there I was, bored with the world of emotionless people, angry that someone that that making a movie with emotionless characters was a good idea.

[Yeah, I'm looking at you, Dollhouse. Good thing you tried to save yourself second season right before getting canceled.]

I mean, how is having a bunch of lame, feel-nothing characters a good idea? No amount of awesome effects is going to change how ambivalent I am.

But beyond that, I would be okay with this movie. I'd seen it once and that's good enough, now I can let go.

Except everyone loves this movie. My coworkers at the video store loved it. My roommate loved it. I think my dad loves it. I am constantly confronted, as a girl who like Sci-Fi, with either the recommendation or the movie night of Equilibrium.

Therefore, I've seen it three times, instead of once, and this burns me up inside. Every time I think about how I've gotten conned into see it, the anger simmers over.

So this is a warning: I hate that movie and I will explode in your general direction if you suggest watching it.

The Betrayal of the Blood Lilly by Lauren Willig

I'm going to admit that the DC Public library had their eye on the ball with this one, because just a few weeks after I complained about their inability to get books on time, I receive the book.

Actually, now its been a while since I finished it.

But it was a lot like all the other books. Cute. No one you care about is in too big of trouble, even though it looks high stakes. Really, I can never remember too much about the actual spy plots. But its nice, its fun, and it makes me regret having a job because it comes between me and the reading.

As always with series books, I immediately want to read the next installment. And I recommend it if you like a little escapism.

I saw the trailer for Terribly Happy right before seeing An Education.

I admit that 75% of the appeal of this trailer is the cat. Mojn! Mojn! Mojn!

Dan over at The Illinoisiac posted photos of his fridge after he went grocery shopping for the first time since July.



I go grocery shopping once a week and Costco shop once every month. I'm pretty well stocked.









[When I first moved to DC, I had very, very little money and took very little food on the long trek from Illinois. The result was very little food in the cupboards. Its amazing how just that little fact, the fact that I didn't have extra food in the fridge or cabinet, freaked me out to no end. And now, I have enough food to last weeks without grocery shopping, even though I go at least once a week.]
